ORPHANAGE FOR PRISONERS' CHILDREN




Saturday when we visited the prisoners' children's orphanage, Dave helped the kids plant their vegetable garden. I passed out little pencil gifts. After a child picked out his pencil, I'd say the color in English, and then he'd teach me how to pronounce the color in Chinese. These kids picked up the English much faster than I could get the Chinese words to come out. There are so many sounds in Chinese that my tongue just can't produce. Sigh. In this picture, the taller kids are students from a Xi'an university who were also visiting the orphanage that day. Here's the link to this orphanage:
