Today Dave and I went to our usual Thursday morning kindergarten time where we share American games and songs with the children at the kindergarten here on campus. We volunteer once a week and told them we're leaving for the States Monday, so this would be our last time for this school year. Rather than being escorted to the classrooms we'd visit today, we were surprised to be taken to an assembly room upstairs where one of the classes had a song and dance program prepared for us as a "thank you". The principal, vice principal, Dave and I were the only ones in the audience. They announced that this was their gift to us to thank us for volunteering and sharing America with them these past few months. It was the sweetest thing. We were so touched. After the performance, they gave us some lovely gifts and we promised to return next fall. What a sweet experience. The Chinese are so appreciative, kind and generous. After the performance, as the children left, they blew us kisses.
