In the mean time, there seems to be plenty to do with no time to get bored. Last night a half dozen women from the church had a "Girls Night Out" at a great Indian restaurant. The night before we ten foreign teachers here at our university went out to dinner together at a great Chinese restaurant. I actually liked the food! (Well, about half of it.) Twice this week we've taken our friends from home who are teaching here, the Jefferies, to the Muslim Market and the old Xi'an city wall. Dave's whipped out two batches of scrumptous home made bread this week. And this morning we swept, mopped, dusted and scrubbed our little apartment. Oh, AND we've been teaching a few classes on the side.
The other day we went to an early morning street market and had so much fun browsing, we've decided when the day comes that we leave China, we'll bring all the stuff we've bought for the apartment that we can't take home, lay out a little carpet, and sell it at the street market for a Chinese-style garage sale.

All freshmen are required to take military training from morning til night their first three weeks of university life. The school closed the night before we were to have our first class with our our NPU freshmen. This is just a small group of the total freshman class.
