LOVE THESE CHINA STREETS

Walking the every-day streets is probably our favorite thing to do since we've returned to China. I've always enjoyed this more than seeing any great tourist sights. However, in the midst of this unique Chinese street culture, one can see the mark of American capitalism; even the Chinese, with their great pride in ancient chinese dishes, love good ol' McDonalds' french fries and chicken nuggets. We're usually the only non-Chinese in McDonalds.

It was so sweet walking across the new campus yesterday as we headed to teach our first class since the two-month break. We frequently passed students we knew and were greeted with such enthusiastic and happy "HELLO TERRYS!".

Daughter number three was looking at the symbols under the Golden Arches, and her comment: I bet that says, "I'm loving it."
